An initial interview and subsequent sessions will last 55 minutes charged at £70 per session (Couples sessions will be charged at £100 per session). In order to provide a framework for the work, sessions will be weekly and scheduled for a regular day and time. I do understand that sometimes flexibility is required and in these instances I try my hardest to offer alternatives where my diary allows. Missed or cancelled sessions will however be charged in full.
Payment can be made by cheque or cash, I'm afraid I don't have card facilities and a receipt will be given if requested.
You will be given a copy of this agreement at our initial meeting. It's intention is not to enforce unnecessary regulations, as mentioned previously, I understand that flexibility is sometimes required and will do all I can to be accommodating, but rather to list clearly and with no uncertainty the rules of engagement between client and therapist. They are there to serve us both, and if for example you wish to start the sessions but are going away on holiday in two weeks, I shall obviously not enforce the holiday and breaks point.
The most important dynamic is psychotherapeutic work is the relationship between client and therapist and I very much see the initial session as an interview giving us both a chance to decide if we want to work together. This will involve me getting a picture of your situation, your reasons for making the appointment along with various other information such as GP's details, in accordance with BACP guidelines.
Within a day or so after the first session I would ask you to confirm whether you wish to return the following week, or alternatively you might want to ask for some recommendations of other therapists you might wish to investigate.
I am an associated member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work to the BACP code of ethics, working in accordance with their ethical framework for good practice. I am also a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Confidentiality and professionalism is maintained at all times.
I will not pass on any information about a client in accordance with BACP code of best practice.
